To go to Milford Sound from Queenstown, one have to take Milford Road and it takes 5hr and 30minutes. It is a famous story that New Zealand government decided not to dig a tunnel can reduce traveling time 5hr to get to Milford sound to keep nature of New Zealand. Though we had to detour around 300km and keep us on a seat for 14 hours, it was a nice tour.
I recommend all of you that you should take this bus tour if the whether is nice. Two out of three days are rainy day in this area, but the day we went was perfectly fine weather fortunately.
There was off-season snow in that area the day before and it changed mountains white.
It was perfect and absolutely beautiful scene. Milford Road is not mere a road to go to Milford Sound. The deep ravines, glaciers, mountains, all we could see impressed us. I will never forget it.

Milford Track, starting from Te Anau, is known as one of the finest walks in the world. The tour guide told us that a Japanese tourist over 70 years old started the tour few days ago and he had attended the tour seven times before. Nature in New Zealand is great and we began to think about the importance of conservation of nature then. The memory of the tour will become fainter but I do want to attend this tour sometime near future.
crusing Milford Cursing was impressive too. But the first thing we had to do at the boat was to dash to the buffet.Because there were many tourists, so our tour conductor suggested that you should dash to buffet as soon as you find your seat.
Precipices on both sides was cut off by the glacier over a hundred million years ago. The power of nature is great.
Milfordsound There are some high waterfalls in the bay. Some New Zealand Fur Seal were sleeping on a rock. There were many place to see,but my image of Milford Sound is mysterious place rather than active place.
I felt that it was active but quiet cruising.
We backed same course as this morning and only had rest room time. But the driver stopped at the point we could not stop on the way to Milford this morning because of delay of schedule. The place was near Hober tunnel. There are only three tunnels in New Zealand. Kiwi discussed which would be the best choice for New Zealand, to make a tunnel or not to. If they dig a tunnel, one can go far place easily, but it may change natural environment. Eventually they decided not to dig a tunnel. This story was famous and Hober tunnel is the one of those three tunnels.
We could see many Kea, name of the bird, Snow Bridge Mountain at there. It was a nice place.
After the tour we went back to Queenstown and left there to Auckland next morning. The day which goes back was drawing near.
